“top leadership skills what makes a true leader”

When faced with a big decision or obstacle, imagine how your mentor would handle it. Think about what they’ve done to overcome similar situations. This can help point you in the right direction when you find yourself being challenged.
Effectiveness in leadership has been attributed to (1) persuasion skills, (2) leadership styles and (3) personal attributes of the leader. We will explore these further in another article or two. Now, we will consider one critical element of leadership (influence) – love for people.
And finally we come to the last of the six qualities – responsibility. The ability to put up your hand and admit when you’ve done something wrong never comes easily. When there is blame to be accepted for a business error, the owner and leader must be the one to accept it. But responsibility also means being able to reward and congratulate your employees, and spreading accolades and appreciation where appropriate can go a long way. When a business owner is able to accept blame and pass on congratulations to those who truly deserve it, a leader is born.
However, according to recent biographies as he matured his management style began to shift and he began to moderate some of his more negative traits and have more empathy for others, realizing that people had limits. Perhaps because he was for years estranged from his own daughter he tried to become a father figure to his employees and develop a sense of work-life balance. On his return to Apple he was forced to cut staff and was quoted as expressing concern for families of employees that were laid off.
Who comes to mind when you think of great leaders? Dynasty’s formidable business woman, Alexis Colby, originally inspired me to pursue my dreams and set up my own company. Yet, we all know it takes more than flashy hats, big hair and a kick-ass attitude to successfully lead a team in the real world.
Most of the time, team can solve every problem facing with you, because your problem your teams problem, and your teams problem is yours. Listening carefully will always help to understand their inner thoughts, and yes it can cause further work for the leader, becasue good leader cares
Once you’ve yourself to achieving your dream, the world will start helping you achieve it. But this only happens if your mind is open to see and experience this: “When you carry your own dream within, you too will be able to touch the hearts and minds of the people around you in much the same way; and it is a truly wonderful and uplifting experience when you find out for yourself that the universe does indeed help you to achieve your goal.”
You lack motivation not because you are lazy or don’t have a goal. Even the biggest stars, richest businesspeople or the most accomplished athletes get lost sometimes. What makes them motivated is the curiosity about how much better or faster they can get. So above all, be curious, and this will lead you to your goals and success.
Although Pope Francis is a spiritual leader, he doesn’t hesitate to intervene in geopolitics that harms or poses a threat to mankind. His courage and wisdom in embracing pragmatism have won him much respect. His ambition to decentralise the church structure, turning it into a “home for all” shows that he recognises social changes and seems prepared to adapt himself.
Both men believe that “heart” or “compassion” is fundamental for real leadership – “deep empathy” with the people and “a sentiment that fuels the fight against the injustices those people may face.” Canada’s Justin Trudeau is hailed as a symbol of hope for progressives facing anti-globalization forces. He presented a compelling economic message about Canada’s place in the world economy, and was “elected partly because of his commitment to helping ordinary people.”
This ties in closely to the above point. In order to be a better leader, you must be sure to remember that the people you are leading are not simply a means to your own end. No one wants to follow a leader that does not see them as an integral part of the cause, company, or team’s development. To be a great leader, you should abandon the idea that the maintenance of your authority is one of the most important tasks at hand. You must allow the people that you lead to develop alongside you.
After his native Bangladesh fought a war to become independent, Abed established BRAC (originally Bangladesh Rehabilitation Assistance Committee) to aid the rural poor, including 10 million returning refugees. He has built it into the world’s largest nonprofit, with over 100,000 employees serving millions in 10 Asian and African countries. He was knighted in 2010.
It’s the same with people in credit card debt — many don’t even know how much debt they have! They’d rather avoid their statements and bury their head in the sand than face the reality of how much they owe.

  1. 15. Stop micromanaging. Leaders who micromanage their teams are not allowing the talented to excel, the gifted to produce, and the experienced to make best use of their skills. If you want to be a better leader, step back and give people the room they need to do their best.
