The biggest problem is that people major in minor things, they learn a little bit of this and that, go to school, waste some time working a job they hate (some even waste their whole life), and while they’re on the train to the land of misery they also tend to settle for a partner they don’t truly love.
4. Serve as an Example: This is also quite am important aspect of being a leader of a team. Only if a leader acts as an example, would the leader be respected enough to be given the proper respect as a leader. Being an example can be anything, right from the way they work, to the way they make professional decisions. Serving as an example is not easy in this fast paced world, but one can always try.

According to Maxwell’s Law of Magnetism, we attract people who are similar to us. So, if you’re an insecure, lazy person (which I’m sure none of you are), you’re going to struggle to build a strong inner circle because you attract people with the same bad habits that you have.
Do you care about the people you manage? Does your team feel like they can trust you and come to you with any problem? If not, it turns out there’s very little chance they’re engaged at work according to research by Gallup:
One of the more recent definitions of leadership comes from Werner Erhard, Michael C. Jensen, Steve Zaffron, and Kari Granger who describe leadership as “an exercise in language that results in the realization of a future that wasn’t going to happen anyway, which future fulfills (or contributes to fulfilling) the concerns of the relevant parties…”. This definition ensures that leadership is talking about the future and includes the fundamental concerns of the relevant parties. This differs from relating to the relevant parties as “followers” and calling up an image of a single leader with others following. Rather, a future that fulfills on the fundamental concerns of the relevant parties indicates the future that wasn’t going to happen is not the “idea of the leader”, but rather is what emerges from digging deep to find the underlying concerns of those who are impacted by the leadership.
The bureaucratic top-down leadership style i.e. “The Commanding Leader” is increasingly less effective in the ever evolving digital age where people are more connected than ever. Employees want a more collaborative approach to leadership. 41% of employees say they want their leadership to come from the company that they work for as a whole and from all employees. They want a ‘leadership-by-all’ model. This is much more than the 25% who say that leadership should only come from the company CEO, according to the KLCM report. Interestingly, Millennial employees have higher expectations of leadership from CEOs and those in Senior Management. Only 35% of Millennials prefer the ‘leadership-by-all’ model, which is 6% less than the general consensus.
Caring for them is not the same as acquiescing to their desires. You’re leading (hopefully) because you know what’s best for the team; they may not. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn’t mean you have to give them what they want. Allow them to disagree with you, listen to their argument, and let them know why you think the way you do. Let them know you care, but are acting in the best way you see fit.
Walt Disney (1901-1966), had his share of hardships and challenges; and like any great leader, he managed to stay positive and find new opportunities. In 1928, Disney found that his film producer, Charles Mintz, wanted to reduce his payments for the Oswald series. Mintz threatened to cut ties entirely if Disney didn’t accept his terms, and Disney chose to part ways. But in leaving Oswald, Disney decided to create something new: the iconic Mickey Mouse.
Ironically, some of the most successful or admired people, of past and present, are introverts. Take Abraham Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt, Charles Darwin and Albert Einstein. Or Bill Gates, Larry Page and Steve Wozniak. And how about Michael Jordan, Roy Rogers, Steven Spielberg and J.K. Rowling? Let’s also not forget other industry giants such as investment magnates, Warren Buffett and Charles Schwab, publishing tycoon Katharine Graham, and Douglas R. Conant, CEO of Campbell Soup. The list goes on. Studies reported by Jennifer Kahnweiler, author of The Introverted Leader: Building On Your Quiet Strength, show that a full 40 percent of executives are introverts. Chances are many of the people in your business and the majority of your clients may be introverts.
The best leaders walk the walk and talk the talk. As a result, group members admire these leaders and work to emulate these behaviors. If you want to become a better leader, work on modeling the qualities that you would like to see in your team members.
There are many definitions of leadership. The Collins English dictionary defines leadership as “the leader(s) of a party or group.” Yet true leadership is much more than that. A leader can be the CEO of an organization or a first year employee who leads his or her team to success behind the scenes. A leader might lead through official authority and power. Yet, just as often great leaders lead through inspiration, persuasion and personal connections.
Another important quality of transformational leadership involves a focus on providing one-on-one communication with group members. Good leaders should express sincere care and concern for the members of their group both verbally and nonverbally.
The “what makes a good leader team” have developed the term “Employee Service” to provide the required context for leaders. What makes a good leader? ….. A good leader is someone who is committed to providing their employees with the service that their people deserve.
On the other hand, in volatile, fast-paced times, people yearn for some form of constancy. They won’t find it in the marketplace; they won’t find it in most organisations. So where should they look for it?
Elon Musk is a great example of a leader with confidence. He truly believes that Tesla will be successful, which he has shown many times through his actions. He converted 532,000 stock options at $6.63 each, their value on Dec. 4, 2009, before Tesla went public. It was a hefty bargain considering Tesla’s stock price stood at around $195 per share at that time. He doesn’t apologize for his beliefs and has drawn fire from just about everyone for his political actions.

Some ideas for leadership inspiration include being genuinely passionate about ideas or goals, helping followers feel included in the process and offering recognition, praise, and rewards for people’s accomplishments.
As the human race has evolved, it has been socially dependent on certain members deemed leaders of the group. These particular people always possessed characteristics that a group of people could rally around in order to reach their goals. Even in the animal kingdom, wild animals will gather around a dominant animal to lead them. For example, a pride of lions has one king lion that leads the pack and ensures every lion is properly fed and protected. Because the male lion will fight to the death for the top spot, this ensures the king is the strongest and therefore the most able to protect and hunt food for his pride, or group. Of course, in today’s civilized world, we don’t exactly have to fight to the death to lead a group of people. But, in a manner of speaking, any potential leader does have to fight or compete to obtain a leadership position. Instead of proving strength and power, the candidate will have to display how and why they’re the most suitable for the position. Instead of physically lunging at an opponent, the candidate will constantly have to demonstrate professional, motivational, and social skills a cut above the rest.
