There was something special about the idea of selling physical products that people would actually use and consume. I was tired of the negativity in the “make money online” world, and seeing 30% refunds on products was starting to get exhausting.

The problem is that they can’t. In a store like that, sure, you can make very minor adjustments in each department, but you can’t go putting the extra helmets for sale right next to the air conditioners.
Lastly, I would say the now days, the whole Amazon Seller biz model is not nearly as attractive as it was several years ago. Competition has gotten incredible fierce and of course there is the inherent issues with the Amazon biz model.
Going back to one of my original complaints (no support from founders), it’s easy to see why I couldn’t get 1-on-1 interaction.  These guys are putting everything together.  They don’t have time to email back one by one.
Aside from the dynamics of retail inventory storage, you have to consider this: not everyone is a price shopper. Many people (especially those with Prime subscriptions) will see a price on Amazon, assume that it’s the lowest, and hit the buy button.
