His salvation of Nissan from 1999 to 2005 remains “one of the most dramatic turnarounds in the history of the modern corporation,” says McKinsey. There is so much you need to know and need to learn. The path to success is paved with obstacles that can only be overcome by reading books, gaining mentors, failing and trying again, and learning from your mistakes.
The key is to always have an area of improvement that you’re working on, whether it’s boosting your team’s morale or making yourself a better communicator. This shows people that, just as you demand growth and results from them, you demand the same from yourself.
