Just purchased this product because it seemed reasonable for what I want to do. Not necessarily interested in private label at this time, but I am hoping the other information can help me to grow my business. What is leadership? Each of us believe we have a good idea about what it means to be a good leader, but when it comes to defining the concept, the picture is not so clear. For some, leadership is motivation, for others, it equals results, for others it is inspiration.
My first 2 eBooks weren’t that great. I put a lot of work into them — a lot. But I also clicked “publish.” Most people never do that. They spend years building this intricate, almost-perfect creation that’s never quite “done.”

The principles in this book are not remarkably new and the dictionary definitions at the start of every section seem a little out of place. The tendency for the points to spill into each other was also a little distracting. But the inspiring stories in every section were a nice touch.
Never forget where you’re coming from. Many people, after achieving some success, bad-mouth where they come from. This is a sure recipe for failure in the future as the same ones you talk badly about now can be the ones who rescue you in the long run.
While one might not like to admit that it is true, guys that take care of themselves and look sharp tend to be more successful than those that don’t. As a society and a culture, we attribute certain qualities to men who look the part they play.

I believe a leader has to be a student. In general it is hard for a leader to be around enough other leaders to pick this up just through discussion, so I think a leader has to be a reader and a learner. Furthermore, I can’t see someone leading in a field they know nothing about.
Finally, some people contend that if everyone is a leader, who’s going to follow? The truth is, nobody leads in everything. You wouldn’t say that if everyone sings lead vocals, who will sing harmony? The best leaders step in and out of their role as leader gracefully, depending on the situation.

A visionary leader, though, does need lieutenants who can take their vision and translate it into day-to-day work for the rest of the organization. If it’s all vision and strategy with no tie to day-to-day execution, employees will get confused and ultimately leave.

If any of these factors are missing, leaders will have a tough time attracting followers. At the end of the day, it is the entwining of the relationship of the leader with the followers that makes their organization or portion of the organization succeed.

Every action you take speaks to who you are as a leader, and every expressed value demonstrates your beliefs. There have been thousands of books written about what it takes to be successful in business, and a thousand more about achieving success in life as well. You can find another thousand articles on the web that discuss the topic, and a thousand more will be written tomorrow. With such a broad subject and with so many things that can play a role in making us happy, it can be difficult to boil it down to a short list of things that anyone can read and apply in their lives.

There are frankly so many different opinions about what it takes to be a leader that it would take multiple books (much less one blog post) to even begin to cover the topic. In fact, just type the words “leader” or “leadership” into the Amazon search function. The number of books that come up is staggering. There is even the borderline sociopathic approaches recommended by Robert Greene in The 48 Laws of Power (1998), but for karma sake we’re going to leave that last one alone.

Often times, employees come to management with issues or questions not because of a lack of competence, but because they are uncertain about their approach. So, before you jump to suggest action steps, ask if she has any ideas. She may just need a sounding board and some encouragement.

It’s important you provide ample channels for two-way communication between employees and managers, and also solicit and reward them for their ideas and contributions. This facilitates progress toward reaching organizational goals.

If you’re working on a project, your goals and expectations should be clear from the beginning. Then your employees will be more motivated and not confused. It is preferable to have your goals down in written form.

The main difference between starting on your own and joining ASM – is time and experience. With ASM you will be saving a ton of time where is starting on your own can take different curves and this is where many new folks get discouraged after spending so much time figuring out every little component. 
Excellent points and I really would encourage any online entrepreneur to read what Rod here has said about the Amazing Selling Machine. Don’t waste your hard earned cash on an over priced and marketed program. Go with Skip McGrath’s The Complete Amazon Marketing System for $147, that’s 33 times less expensive than the Amazing Selling Machine training.
How are high profit margins generated? By convincing customers that the product has very high value and is in limited supply. Thus, the ASM training doesn’t just include the 8 week course but additional value-added items such as the Vegas trip and lifetime forum membership.
In September 2013, I started receiving emails from every “guru” and his dog about the Amazing Selling Machine (ASM) by Jason Katzenback and Matt Clark (which is not surprising after I found out that about $2000 out of the $4000 price for ASM is paid out as affiliate commission to people who promote it). The promo videos were certainly well done and I was intrigued by the idea of creating and selling my own private label products on Amazon. I was ready to join in after going through the long series of sales pitch videos, then they dropped the price bombshell.

Spent 3 weeks up in Cotacochi (north of Quito and worth the day trip – about 2.5 hours in car for 60 USD’s) checking out leather products to import. The prices are awesome for coats, bags, and saddles – But working with the companies there was not efficient for drop shipping purposes. Good products though – tons of artisan goods at great deals. You can also hike the volcanoes around there as well, elevations starting at about 10,000 feet though.
This, like I said above, is inevitable. You will have a few products along the way that will be disasters. But, this does not mean your business will fail, it just means that you never bet on that product again.
