How you do one thing is how you do everything. If you spend all day being bored, lazy, and irresponsible, you can’t simply “flip a switch” and become a truly responsible, disciplined, hard worker while at home, in your relationships, your finances, or your health.
Good leaders are also those who allow their team to develop autonomy and add value according to their own personal strengths. Being able to recognize the strengths of individuals within their team, and allowing them to be responsible and accountable, not only increases employees’ confidence in themselves and their leader, but also increases their performance.
What makes a good leader? Just like what is the best leadership style? There is no magic formula nor is there a one-size-fits-all answer. Perhaps we should agree on what has been proven to result in a good leader? Some might believe that a good leader can be measured from a qualitative perspective, meaning that he or she has built a reputation of being a good boss! Personally I prefer — and for the purpose of this article — we should use a more measurable approach to define just what makes a good leader.
Leadership doesn’t have a one size fits all solution, and there is no magic formula that will instantly make you a great leader. Instead it takes time and dedication to learn how to achieve the goals you set, and how to inspire others to follow you and do the same. Everyone has their different ways of doing this, whether it’s through rewards, allowing more freedom within job roles or getting stuck in to the job alongside your employees. Each approach works differently for everyone, but each type of leader has taken time to figure out their style.
Drake described the song as “eerie” and “dark”, and as “simplistic” having a “reverb-driven harmony.”[3] Shaheem Reid of MTV News said this about the song: “Trey Songz’s hook expresses the dreams of a young black male coming from nothing to something, and Drake’s raps put the hip-hop nation on notice, while conveying his own desperation and hope and revealing family struggles. Let’s not forget Lil Wayne’s magnificent at bat as cleanup hitter…”[3] An “endearing and revealing” moment happens in the record when Drake refers to an incident when his mother contemplated leaving home during family troubles.[3]
A good leader will put a lot of effort into building the right team around him or her. You need people you trust, who are on your side, who challenge and are honest with you and whose judgement you respect. You need to be able to depend on their support when the going gets tough. Being a leader can feel lonely and exposed: so you need to have your support systems in place to help you through the harder times.
High energy. Long hours and some travel are usually a prerequisite for leadership positions, especially as your company grows. Remaining alert and staying focused are two of the greatest obstacles you will have to face as a leader.

Each of these measures can be considered conceptually distinct. While these aspects may be related, they are different outcomes and their inclusion should depend on the applied or research focus.
